Mobile App - Paid and Free Version

In consideration for a mobile app, there should be two versions in order to generate revenue to the maintenance and development of Kings of Chaos.

Free Version - Every time you login or after so many minutes of activity, a 30 second advert is generated.

Paid Version - A one off payment to gain access to an Ad Free version (£5, €6, $8usd, $10aud). I’m not aware of Google Play/App Store commission charges, but potentially upto £6k could be raised if the membership base were to purchase it (unlikely, but aspirational nonetheless).

In addition, it should have visible and easy access to donor pages, whether that’s done internally or via organisations such as Patreon.

The difficult bit about adverts is making sure they dont appear on certain pages or in certain scenarios.
The last thing admins want is for people to leave if adverts prevent banking or slaying etc.
I imagine the safest place to launch adverts is base.php

Of course, I completely agree that any free version doesn’t decide to pop up an ad, especially if you just stole a sell or was recipient of one.

I don't think the idea in the OP will work, people would just use adblockers to bypass the ads anyway and for reasons above.

The donate button and merch store is the way to go to raise funds. The idea of badges next to your IGN on the BF would be a good incentive!

Donaters could get a weekly bonus, just have another page called Prizes, could have a free random daily price for everyone and a donater prize for those who donate, maybe could be anything from 500/5000 turns, or soldiers even weapons...

Would cause people who donate to get an advantage which isn't wanted.

Donating is just that donating, if you love the game, you donate, you do not receive anything in return, you do not expect anything in return.

This is still a free game to play, all costs are covered by myself, some costs are covered by ads when we dont get screwed (a couple months of revenue was reversed due to a suspension, see announcements section), some costs has been covered by those that have donated.

KoC has always been a free game to play and it will stay that way. The only benefits that a donator receives atm is their username on discord is a different color to regular users to show they have supported the game via a donation.

When a game starts to alienate players that cannot afford to donate or pay to play or in some cases pay to win it makes it a game that is unfair to those that cannot afford to keep up.

How about using the mobile with a 10 second video add here and there... the same way youtube does ad's... might help out with some revenue @bon

A simple mobile app would make sure a lot more players join the game. I have no idea about the costs but this should be seriously taken into concideration.

As Bon pointed out I am completely against any advantages for people putting money into the game, it would turn it into what you call a "pay to win" game.

The thought pattern to follow would be, make a free and good app, more people will join up and access the game through their computer and thus generate income from advertisement. Clicking for example could not be implemented into an app which would force people to play from a computer while they can still bank, attack and sab etc using the mobile app when on the road or at work.
